The shake is off. Again.
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump once again avoided the traditional handshake at the start of Wednesday’s presidential debate — and even their families shunned the shake, too.
The Trump and Clinton families already agreed before the debate they would not shake hands at its beginning, breaking another time-honored tradition.
The Clinton campaign insisted on this because Trump planned to seat Bill Clinton’s sexual assault accusers near them at the second debate, according to The New York Times. Trump’s sick scheme didn’t happen, but Clinton’s camp didn’t want to take chances of an embarrassment.
The candidates themselves then avoided shaking hands when they took the stage in Las Vegas — the second time in a row they started a debate without a simple sign of civility.
Twitter users immediately mourned the apparent final slap against the presidential shake.
